Turmeric for Acne and Living Forever

I'm gonna start taking this! Hopefully, along with the turmeric face mask, it will help clear my acne!

Turmeric Tea Recipes
Turmeric Tea with Lime by Season with Spice

What you'll need:
1 cup water - boiled
1/4 tsp turmeric powder
1 tsp lime juice (or lemon juice)
1 tsp sugar

Process:
1. Add turmeric powder and boiling water into cup, then stir, and let steep for a few minutes.
2. Add in lime juice and sugar, stir, and cheers to a healthy life.

Notes:
- You can use fresh turmeric, but it will turn your fingers and your kitchen tools all yellow. Slice a one inch piece of turmeric, peel, and chop into small pieces. Bring one cup of water to a boil then turn heat to low, add in chopped turmeric, cover, and let steep for 10 minutes. Add to cup with sugar and lime juice.
- You can also add in 1/8 tsp of ground ginger for more ‘bite’, and for the additional health benefits.
- Okinawans drink turmeric tea as a way to prevent hangovers (they drink a cup for before drinking alcohol), which probably works since turmeric is known to detoxify the liver.

Turmeric Tea with Milk & Honey by Season with Spice

What you'll need:
1 cup milk – heated
1/4 tsp turmeric powder
1 tsp honey

Process:
1. Heat milk, but do not bring to boil.
2. Add turmeric to cup and pour in milk. Stir, and then cover and let steep for 5 minutes.
3. Add in honey and enjoy!

Notes:
- The tea looks like a mango lassi. Try leaving out the honey, adding a pinch of amchoor (dried mango powder) and sugar to taste.

PHOTOS!

I thought about getting the photos of my hair transformation from my old computer but that would take too much time so I just took them from my facebook :-P

Here's my hair evolution:

More long hair:

First Time in a While!!

Well, I really don't know if anyone will ever read this but I think it will help me emotionally to write here, even if it's just about my hair and skin care.

So yeah, I ended chopping my hair REALLY short and bleaching it a couple more times before I realized it was a waste of time. I decided to go back to brown and I went through a pink stage for a week. I read that if you want to go from bleach blonde to brown, you need to dye your hair red first to avoid a yuky green tint, my hair turned more pink than red so I decided to go REAL pink for about a week and then go brown/black.

I cut my hair real short around February 2011 and the above picture was taken in April 2011. My hair grows really fast but this is basically how it looked when I first cut it. I'll post more pics when I transfer them from my old laptop.

For the past couple of months I've come to really regret bleaching and cutting my hair. I thought I was just being daring and doing whatever I wanted but in reality I was trying to find a high to get me out of the dump of depression I was in. I miss my long, beautiful and healthy hair.

I'm letting it grow right now but I'm a bit OCD and it drives me crazy to have my hair all uneven. A friend told me that a lot of people don't go past the shoulder-length hair cause they're afraid of the "awkward" phase. My hair is definetely awkward looking so I shall strive for patience to not get a hair cut! I've been trimming it here and there though, the first two times I did it it was really helpful to make my hair look better but the times after that I did it cause I was bored, I'm bored and stressed by my hair style at the same time. I can somewhat see the light at the end of the tunnel, most of the length of my hair is healthy/new hair and I can tell that it's gonna be good, hopefully as healthy as it was before.

I SHALL NEVER BLEACH ALL OF MY HAIR AGAIN!

P.S. I'm still thinking of doing some blue strikes once the virgin hair is long enough :-P

First Wash

I know you are suppossed to wait a couple days after bleaching your hair before washing it but I couldnt wait!!
My hair felt SOOO dry and crispy, I fried my hair =(, that I put jojoba oil on it yesterday and I slept with it in my hair, I was gonna leave it on all day today at the least but it just felt too greasy and dirty so I washed it. I was very careful when washing it cause I realized yesterday that when my hair is wet, the most bleached parts of it turned into what I described as chewy old elastic. I used AG's Sterling Silver shampoo, I washed twice, barely rubbing my fingers against my scalp so to not cause breakage, left it on for 1-2 min, rinsed, sligthly towel dried (pressed towel against my hair) and then applied AG's Sterling Silver conditioner, I let sit on my hair for about 5min and rinsed. My hair felt SOO soft!! I carefully towel dried by pressing a towel against my hair (too scared of breakage to even sligthly rub), combed, applied K-Pak liquid reconstructor (spray on hands and then carefully rubed on hair), then AG's Fast Food leave in conditioner, combed again to distribute the product more evenly and finished it by applying a couple drops of jojoba oil to the ends.
Its been a couple hours since I washed it and it hasnt dried completly yet but I can already tell the difference, my hair is SUPER soft, the ends are still a bit dry but way better than before!! I think the lady who did my hair didnt condition it well enough or use any good balm to protect my hair before blowdrying and MY GOSH!! she had a heavy, my scalp hurt from the tugging :_(. I want to stay away from heat styling tools for a while but I might use my CHI flat iron tomorrow so my hair looks decent for church.
Let me know if you have any questions on the products I used, I will do reviews on them as I use them more often on my damaged hair. Hope you have an awesome day!! =D

My Hair Story - An Overview - Cut, Dye Black and Bleach

So, I just put my hair through a lot, might not be much for many but is more than I've ever done to it.
I used to have close to waist lenght, black (dyed), shiny and super healthy hair. Just a couple months ago I decided to cut it into a short bob and get a couple blue streaks on it, then I covered them with more black dye.
I got bored of the black and had a whimp of going blonde. Last week I decided to start the change by using a color striper (Color Oops) twice, I let my hair rest and then this Monday I did the first bleach, Tuesday I did the second and today I decided to go see a professional to fix the mess that I had made. Is not exactly the end result I had expected but is not bad at all, I like it but my hair is SUPER dry, parts of my hair feel like old elastic when wet (more like chewing gum) *sobs* so I'm gonna start working on getting my hair as healthy as possible.
The purpose of this blog is to share what I have done to my hair so that other may learn of my experiences, both good and bad. I will do my my best to update what I've done so far to my hair, what I have used and what I'm trying now, I will put up pictures too so keep in touch! :)
